They do not belong to a continuing care community. My husband preferred Hillside Nursing and Rehab. It was beautiful and clean with a nice staff. They had a rehab center, assisted living, and nursing care. It was really large, and the rooms were bigger, but the only thing I didn't like about it was there were only two rooms where you could be by yourself. All the other rooms had two people in them, and that just doesn't work for some elderly that are still in good shape.
The welcoming lobby is deceitful and the smiling staff deceiving. My husband only needed to get PT to get his strength back after a long hospital stay. DO NOT leave your loved ones at their mercy. This place has roaches and ants crawling on the residents. The residents are treating so unfairly.

He had an undiagnosed UTI for 10 days. I repeatedly asked them to check because he was absolutely bonkers. They stopped his anxiety & parkinson’s medication because they thought he was to sleepy/confused… those symptoms were because he had a UTI. They're located only 12.07 miles from Duke Health Raleigh Hospital. Mother was sent to Hillside for rehabilitation therapy after having major surgery. Upon arrival all you do is sign your name, date, arrival time and the patient who you wish to visit in a long book.
The kindness and compassion that was given to both my Grandma and my family during this time will never be forgotten. If a issue ever came about the staff made sure it was addressed and resolved quickly. I have had friends put loved ones into other facilities and by far Hillside has been the best. I did find out that Hillside is Family owned and believe you me I really do believe that makes a difference.
